I’m Ellie—

an artist and writer, practicing presence, placemaking, and painting in Virginia.

The term “artist” holds many dimensions for me, but the common thread through my work is a love of what’s thoughtful, real, and personal in this world.

I paint natural landscapes and botanical works full of memory, take photos to hold seasons of life in permanence, design thoughtful and authentic brands and print pieces, and write about art, faith, and all that’s in between.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Christopher Newport University in 2018, and my Master’s degree in Art History from George Washington University in 2021.

Found in the fields—

refers to a story of a man who finds a hidden treasure in a field. This place houses glimpses of a treasure found.
